Grain Traders at Telok Ayer!
This cafe has been my latest obsession. Firstly, the decor is pretty vintage which I am a sucker for. Upon entering, You’ll be greeted with a huge menu on the wall as well as a really long queue (i went during the lunch hour thats why). Secondly, they have a wide range of veggies and grains/carbs for you to select based on your own preference. Yes, its a customisable bowl in which you get to choose and I chose(photo on left):
- 1 Base : Quinoa
- 1 Protein: Lentils patty
- 1 Hot Veg: Roasted Butternut Squash and Sweet potato
- 2 Cold Veg: Wafu tomatoes, Beans
- 1 Sprinkles: Rice thingy (it added a really nice crunch to my meal)
- 1 Sauce: Coconut Curry
Thirdly, though it isn’t completely Vegan/vegetarian, I’m really glad they have options for Vegans like me (: Lastly, it REALLY FILLS YOU.
Despite the fact that it cost $16 per bowl which is pretty pricey for someone that ain’t earning much, this place is really worth every single penny spent. 🙂 I love it so much to the point I just HAD to go there again today heh. Ordered pretty much the same thing cos its just so delectable. Bryan and I headed there around 430pm and there were hardly any customers so we decided to sit there and order a cup of tea and chill. Another compelling reason to pay this place a visit cos of its major CHILL VIBES. It instantly makes you seem like a hipster 😛 or at least thats how i felt.
I highly recommend this place. Its super easy and convenient to get there as its located at the heart of the CBD area. A super huge thanks to Natascha for introducing me to this AMAZINGGG eatery.
<We still had a whole coconut after our meal 😛 >
